            "Come on Wind you need to stop being such a wuss." Luna said at she stretched in the bright sunlight. It was a beautiful day at the beach and all Luna wanted to do was play in the water with her boyfriend. Her red hair was long and hanging over her pale shoulders. Her bikini was nice but showed enough skin that she knew she would get a decent enough tan. Now she was waiting for him ti emerge from the umbrella that he was hiding under as if it was his only barrier between that and pure hell. His hair was black and just long enough that it got into his eyes. He was wearing a black t-shirt and long black shorts. His real name was Xavier but everyone seemed to call him "Wind" because that was what he was like. He was gone and back as if he had never been there. She did not think he was as forgetful as the wind but she knew he enjoyed the nickname and disliked his real name more.

            "I told you; if I go out there you're going to have a human lobster for a boyfriend," he replied in his normal monotone voice. She heaved a sigh and gave him a look.

            "And I told you that the seventy sun screen we covered you in was going to be plenty," she said before walking over and taking his hands and pulling, "Come on, just come in the water for a little while and I promise you can do whatever you want after." Sighing, he let her pull him to his feet and he removed his shirt. She admired his pale chest that seemed to shine in the sunlight and chose to ignore the terrible scars on his body. A young person getting hit by a car should leave some terrible marks but she did not mention them for she knew how self conscious he was about them and even her drawing attention to them was enough.

            Taking his hand she pulled him toward the water. He seemed reluctant but she knew that he wanted to have some fun on this little trip of theirs. Luna reached the water and released his hand before she wanlked in. The water was up to her waist before she turned around and saw that Wind was not joining her. "Come on Xavier are you coming in or what?"

            "Very funny little moon." he teased before walking into the water. Turning her back she was about chest high when she felt arms slink around her. Leaning into that familiar body she closed her eyes and tilted her head back feeling lips on her neck.

            "Nice of you to join me," she said and he hugged her tightly.

            "Nice of you to let me join you," he replied. and Luna turned around so they could kiss. When wind pulled away he leaned in close to her ear, "I'll always protect you," and she could do was smile and kiss him again.
