Diamonds And Velvet Lying on my back, Staring at the velvet, ebony sky I feel me heart pounding against my rib cage On the dock that I lay, so still, so quiet The water gently kisses the dock, making it wet Over the lake far in the distance loud music plays The neighbors are having a party again Celebrating who knows what, For who knows what reason The stars twinkle against the velvet sky Shimmering like diamonds The moons shines so bright It seems to turn the black of night Into the light of day May my neighbors be safe and may I be safe From the dangers of being a teenager growing up In this time Why can’t it be perfect, With no troubles or dangers? No, if life on Earth was perfect, What would Heaven be? So I except the worries, troubles And dangers And look forward to my after life But I will not put myself in an Early grave But doing the things That are supposed to make you Popular Everyone’s time comes But until then I’ll continue to live And stare at the diamonds In the velvet sky Back
