Light In The Darkness

A small log cabin sits in the middle of a deep forest.
A stream of smoke flows from the chimney.
There is only one window and the light and the dancing shadows escape out the window and Onto the forest floor.
They creep up the trunks of the trees and they get caught in the branches.
People would always wonder why the light would burn late into and then go out suddenly.
Rumors fly that it was haunted by the ghost of an old man.
After years, the town decided that it had to be torn down.
First, they were so convinced that it was haunted that they didn’t even bother to look inside.
They brought a wrecking in, it crushed trees and a patch of wild flowers.
As the ground started to shake, the construction workers saw a group of fleeing orphans.
Holding but a candle and two cans of food.
The cabin wasn’t knocked down but the light never burned again.
