A Storm We had just arrived At Lagoon The sun was shining But there was a cool breeze I wasn’t hot I wasn’t cold We rode some rides But dark clouds Started to form Towards Salt Lake City At first We didn’t think Much of it But soon They were black Really, really Dark black With a tint of slime green The rain started slowly Just a sprinkle But it stared to pour Really fast The drops hitting us Like tiny pebbles Splash, splash! I breathed in the rain fresh air Its taste in my mouth was sweet Then the lightning that flashed Lit up the sky And the thunder Shook the ground We took cover But the rain didn’t let up The wind sent a shiver Down my spine We finally left Wet and disappointed A message on Dad’s cell phone From our neighbor Wondering if we were alright There was an F2 tornado In downtown Salt Lake City The tornado Ate up downtown We looked toward Salt Lake The clouds were gone Our eyes went big We were just there An hour and a half before We drove home in silence Back
