A Wound

I’m wounded
But this is a wound
That can’t be covered
By a Band-Aid
It can’t be covered
By a cast
Not even stitches
Can cover this wound
It’s a wound that’s bleeding
From the inside
Sometimes
When I get these wounds
They eventually
Stop bleeding
But a scare in left
And even though
Some are old wounds
They bleed as brightly
As new ones
This wound
That I speak of
Will leave a scar for life
